From the last two workshops, I have gained a lot of different skills with using After Effects and Illustrator. For this task we had to create again a 10 second animation for a specific theme. For the preparation, I created a robot which I then had to put on After Effects.
The robot that I had to create was created on Illustrator. I had to make sure that all the parts that I wanted to animate in After Effects were all in a separate layer, so when i put it over onto After Effects I can move each part that I wanted to move.
First of all, I began to play around and make the hands move of the robot. I had to use the rotation tool to make this happen. I had to add a key frame each time I wanted to hand to move. I think that I did this well and I wanted to improve this by doing something else. Next, I decided to make the legs move. This again was relatively easy to do and I wanted to give it the effect that the robot is jumping. With this in mind, I decided to add a floor and add a moon to the piece of work. I then had to make the floor move and the sun move. When this was done my final piece was done. I gave the effect that the robot is jumping and you can see the stars and moon. Above is the fish piece that I have published on Vimeo. I am happy with what I have created and if I was to go back to this piece of work, I would like to play around with music to see if this would make the mod of the work different.
