Friday 7th
October was a studio day. We were given a brief in the lecture the day before,
and this told us what we had to do for the next day. The task was to create 6
little sketchbooks that had different scale. I had to draw a narrative for a
time in my life but at a different view. So I had to draw it from 10cm away,
then a metre away, then 10m away and then finally 100m away. I then had to do
this 6 times for a different narrative. This was a fun task do undergo as it
gave me a chance to creatively explore a time in my life. For example, I had drawn
when I past my driving test as this was a big part of my life, because I use my
car so much now. So firstly I drew the test certificate from 10cm away, then
the next image was the car closer up, then it was me outside the car finishing up
with the last one of me driving on a road from a bird’s eye view. This task was
a good way to produce some work which is wasn’t familiar with doing so it gave
me a chance to do something different. Below are the first images that I started
with.
The last
session of the day was to collaborate our work and show it to a group. The group
was of about 4/5 students. After everyone had shown their work we all had to
create a 4-metre-long scroll that links in everyone’s work. So as all of us had
a holiday on the little sketchbooks we then decided to draw about a holiday. We
all had a different section to complete on the scroll, and I was at the end
drawing landmarks that people had been too. Below is the finish outcome of our
work that the group had produced.
