Studio Session - Sketchbook Work

During the studio session, I decided to work on the Sense of Place project by doing some work in my sketchbook. I decided to work on some logo designing. I have always had a high interest in creating logos. For this, I have decided to design a logo for a pub in my local area that I knew needed a logo. I wanted to create this by using the Cornwall map outline. I started off with some simple type styles to see which one I would like to use for the finished project. I have done a page on this and I am happy with some of the outcomes. I then decided to draw the outline of Cornwall to see if I can include this in the logo. I just did a simple type style over the top of this to see if it worked. I am happy with how that looked. Next, I played around with how the logo will look. I have research logo designs and quite a lot of them have the logo in a circle shape. So I decided to go with this based on that. I then wanted to include a pub idea or restaurant item in the logo to see if it would work. I decided to go with a plate styled outline for the outside of the logo. I think this works and I am pleased with how this looks. Next was to put the outline of Cornwall with the plate theme. I draw out the outline first and then draw the plate outline on top of this. I think this will be my main idea for the final piece as I am happy with how it looks.

For the next part of this I am going to roughly sketch the finished product and then I will take this and create it using InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop and see which one works the best.
