After Effects Workshop 4

Throughout the year, I have been doing the after effects workshop with Sara. These workshops are amazing and really helps me to get a clear understanding of how to use after effects better. I’ve not really been that familiar with it, but I feel much more comfortable now.

This workshop we had to bring in a quote or phrase hand drawn on a A4 piece of paper. Below is the piece of work that I had scanned onto the computer ready to be used on after effects. First of all, we had to put the scanned image on a Photoshop document. Next was to separate each word onto a different layer (doesn’t matter where each word is placed as this will be arranged in After Effects). My knowledge of Photoshop was good so I knew how to do this comfortably. Next was to create an After Effects document ready to start making the clip. From previous workshops I knew how to set up a document correctly. I added a background of a sky at night because I think this would give my work a good effect. Next was to add in each layer and make it into a 3D layer so that we can travel through the words as you can see in the clip. I then had to add a camera into the work. I had never done this before, so with Sara’s help I managed to do this. The camera on After Effects is similar to any SLR camera which I was capable of using. The camera allowed the work to move through each word. So for my work I had each word behind each other so when the camera moved through it would show each word as its travelling through. I am very happy with the work that I have produced here. It has allowed me to gain more and more knowledge on After Effects. I feel more confident after each workshop.

He then wrote on cop cars, 30 story skyscrapers, even on the side of Jackson 5’s private jet. He stopped writing on walls at the age of 17, which he then turned to drugs. Whilst on drugs his son was killed. He wanted to change, he didn’t want to die a drug addict which was looking likely. Darryl McCray is now a social worker in the city of Philadelphia. A documentary called “Cry of the City part 1 the Legend of Cornbread. Cane. D. (2010,06 20). I wanted to look at where graffiti and Hip Hop first came from and by looking at Darryl McCray (Cornbread), I have seen how graffiti came alive and now I can now look into this with more depth.

From the notes that I received from my peers, I have taken on bored from what they have said. I really take on board what they say and it helps me to pursue on and finish my work with their notes. I have decided to keep this paragraph the same as I feel that this is a strong piece of writing and it fits in well with the rest of the essay that I have written.
